Fiber Hawaii breaks the boundaries of fiber art. Since 1982, this innovative exhibition encourages creative interpretation of fiber as technique as well as idea. It is open to artists working in all media giving them an opportunity to explore their work within the context of contemporary Fiber Art. This year’s juror is Tom Grotta: co-owner of browngrotta arts in Connecticut. For over 20 years, Brown-Grotta Arts has represented and promoted museum-quality contemporary art from the United States and internationally through photography, publications, exhibitions, digital placement and their website,

Fiber Hawai‘i will be held during the Textile Society of America International Biennial Symposium held in Honolulu, Sept. 23-27, 2008; thereby, providing additional international exposure for Hawai‘i fiber artists
