MATH IN MOTION: Using Creative Movement to Explore Math Fundamentals!
(Pre-K, K) ▲Early STEM/Arts
Presenter: Rachel Knudson, Wolf Trap Master Teaching Artist
Movement is one of the first ways children express themselves and explore their environments. Creative movement and dance provide unique opportunities for young children to develop and explore early math skills and concepts such as number sense, classification, geometry, measurement and mathematical reasoning. Participants will explore how kinesthetic experiences can enhance math, language and social-emotional learning.
Goal: To expand participants’ use of dance and movement experiences to explore math fundamentals and concepts in virtual, hybrid, and in-person learning environments.
