A Tall Tale Trick or Treat

A Tall Tale Trick or Treat

October 31, 6:00pm - via Zoom

A virtual family-friendly Halloween celebration. A shelter-in-place alternative to Trick-or-Treating, complete with spooky stories from professional storytellers.

  • The Greedy Giant of Palau as told by Cassandra Freedman Reid-Selth. In her island home of Palau, there’s a legend about a child from the island of Angaur.  He was not too different from other children, but he was very greedy.  How do his parents and the people of Angaur deal with his greediness?

  • Fernando is not allowed to use the path behind the school to walk home. Listen to Lopaka Kapanui as he tells what happens when Fernando gets curious about the dangers that lie in wait.

  • Feliciana Meets D’Loup Garou: a Cajun Tall Tale written by Tynia Thomassie and told by Aito Simpson-Steele. Left home while the rest of the family goes to a fais-do-do, Feliciana encounters a swamp monster – or at least she thinks she does.
